I just had to evacuate my home and flee across the country and out of Florida to avoid Hurricane Irma. The thought of losing everything makes me think of life, the end of it and being right with God and others. When I think about things like that, I remember childhood.

We talked a lot about natural disasters. Everything had to do with death and life.

Every summer during my childhood, missionaries came into my small hometown and pitched a long, print screen vinyl sign across the back wall behind a pulpit of our tiny 25 seat church.

A series of preachers came from around the world to preach to us about the need to save ourselves by accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and that the things we were seeing around us were what Christian's call "The Sign of the Apocalyptic End of Times" spoken of throughout the Bible, but mostly found in the book of Revelations.

These signs included things like floods, fires, hurricanes, earthquakes. There would be wars and rumors of wars. People would be afraid.

There would be strange diseases, incurable illnesses, and then, when men no longer believed in God, when even the church turned cold against humanity, and their own preachers and believers were hypocrites just looking for money, Christ would return.

A trumpet would sound (Trump?!), and all the real good people who were chosen would go to heaven in a cloud, and the real bad stuff would happen.

But 7 years later, God would come back, and kill all the bad guys, and then he would take over the world returning it to Eden.

These sermons, quite frankly, scared the crap out of me. I went to bed envisioning a trumpet sounding off in a far away place, but one that my ear would not hear because it was too filled with sin. My mother, would suddenly be transformed into an angel and float out of her bed.

I'd have to jump fast to catch her pretty little naked foot hoping to hold on and somehow be carried to heaven to be with Jesus. A real modern day stowaway in the name of the Lord, like Wendy and Peter Pan!

These good news preachers would teach for hours. Every day. And then an alter call was given for anyone with a lost soul who wanted to be saved to come to ask Jesus for forgiveness.

(I personally accepted Christ every.single.time.)

We did this in the 1970s. The sign of the times was here then, and Christ was coming soon.

We did this in the 1980s. The sign of the times was near, and this time for sure Christ was coming soon. Better get ready!

We also did this in the 1990s, and last year, the most recent revival using the same banner and warnings were heard by my children in 2017.

Like the people of Noah who failed to believe that the flood was coming as he built the ark in front of them for 40 years, I didn't want to be left out in the rain. It's now been close to 40 years for me, and I've been looking to see if these signs would come to pass.

Over the years, I've heard different angles to most end time theories of what these eschatological signs are and what they mean. I've read the book of Revelations. Heck! I've taught Sunday school, Bible in a Catholic high school, and I've heard every preacher there is to hear, and to add to the list, I even have a comparative religion degree aka theology student from a big league school.

So, are we now in the end of times more than we were before?  Is what we are seeing the Bible's Prophetic Sign of The End Times?

From a Christian standpoint, yes...maybe.

There are signs warned about in eschatology that are happening now that do look a lot like we are all headed to Armageddon and the return of Jesus Christ.

But if you don't know what they are, or haven't read the book of Revelations, (or attended a church in years except for Christmas, Easter, and maybe Mother's or Father's Day) you wouldn't have any idea what this means.

But there is definitely no denying that we are seeing some pretty terrifying things happening around us.

Here are 7 scary theories about Hurricane Irma, Harvey, the Eclipse and other events that fulfill what the Bible predicts are some signs for the end of times.

1. It's a fact that the Solar Eclipse can be broken down into numerology that proves we are in the last days down to a specific Bible verse.

The Bible writers often referred to numbers to predict what would happen, and how people would know for certain if something was a prophecy being fulfilled.

For example, the sign of the Beast who comes to start war is known by the numbers "666". The Solar Eclipse can be broken down into a series of numbers, too. The Solar Eclipse happened on the 21st of August, the sign of Leo. (Jesus is often referred to as a Lion, and his people, the Lion of Judah). Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, the Lone Star (like the one shining during Christ's birth) on the 25th of August. Flooding started on August 26th. People's hearts feared. This was the worst hurricane we had ever seen (yet).

Luke 21: 25 - 26 says, "And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified by what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken."

Speaking of stars, right now, rumor has it that the planetary alignment is coming together to fulfill another eschatological prophecy, just on the heels of Hurricane Irma who is now the worst Hurricane to ever form in the Atlantic Ocean.

2. It's rumored that "The Woman in Heaven" is here right now and she is believed to be fulfillment of prophecy.

In astrology, planets and the Bible are referred to as stars.

On September 23rd, the Sun, according to astrology (and the wise men who found Jesus were followers of the stars and planets, too) will be in the center of zodiac sign Virgo the Virgin. Above her head, will be a three planet alignment, Mars, Mercury and Venus. At her feet, just below her, will be the Moon.

In astrology, planets are often referred to as stars, and they are given values. For many preachers and believers of eschatology, this planetary alignment is another end time prophetic fulfillment found in the Bible.

This woman is talked about in the book of Revelations, chapter 12, and referred to as "The Woman in Heaven". Astrologers call her Virgo the Virgin.

In fact, this could even predict the birth of the Beast, who is the person who will come before Christ's returns, and then will take over the world as a ruler, fooling everyone.

3. The North Korean nuclear bomb threat is rumored to be a part of prophetic scripture fulfillment as well.

The Bible predicts that after other natural disasters and human failures come to pass, there will be a scene set that allows for World War 3.

Whether this occurs before WW3, or when WW3 starts, theologians and eschatologists are divided. However, it's believed that all nations will fall, with two rising.

One will rise in the East and another in the West. And these two nations will be enter into full on war. Some Christians believe this could be Russia, or some communistic country. But the belief is that the United States will fall and rise again to assume one of these national powers.

4. Hurricane Irma, although not a direct prophecy by Biblical theologians, was to be an 'act of God' and a dual meaning for the U.S and Kim Jong Hun.

In an article published by Breaking News Israel  stating that Yalkut Moshe, written by Rabbi Moshe ben Yisrael Benyamin in Safed in 1894 stated:

"... when a solar eclipse occurs at the beginning of the Hebrew month of Elul, as this one did, “It is a bad sign for the other nations, bringing great damage to the kings of the East, and bringing great storms."

The conflicts rising in nature are rumored to be acts that show God is behind everything that's happening.

5. Self proclaimed prophetics are saying that their visions coming true are signs that the apocalypse is starting.

In the Bible, the book of Joel, a prophetic scripture, that first took place in the book of Acts when the early Christian church began.

"Both scriptures, Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:18 state that during the end of times that young men and women will see what is happening from a spiritual standpoint and their visions will come true. These modern day prophets are stating that not only will Hurricane Irma hit Florida, but that it will hit Texas again.

To make things even more scary, some people are saying these natural disasters open the heavens to allow 'beings' to enter our hemisphere to start the first zombie apocalypse!

6. Some say that that the floods, fires, and earthquakes are birth pangs of the Virgin who gives birth to the 'Beast'.

It's rumored that Hurricane Irma is the start of the Biblical apocalypse where 75 percent of the world will be wiped out, and then start what is called the 7 year Tribulation period where the 'Beast' who ends up being the ruler of Earth takes rulership and then claims that he is god and demands to be worshipped.

7. Irma and Harvey are acts of labor leading to mass death.

It is rumored that the flooding that followed Hurricane Harvey, and now Hurricane Irma is the breaking of the Virgin of the Bible's water on the planet as the universe prepares for the next fulfillment of prophesy. In the book of Revelation, chapter 11 verse 7, it says that 'the beast comes out of the sea'. Some believe this will happen under Irma's terrible watery reign this weekend.

After she gives birth, there will be more signs to see, but all leading to the end of the world as we know it.

Prophesy or not, these are stressful, frightening times and it's best to be aware.
