The Most Unexpectedly Awkward Thing About You, Per Your Zodiac Sign
Sometimes you just make other people feel uncomfortable.
In our dreams, we’re the most sophisticated people on earth and there’s no social situation that we don’t handle with ease. However, in real life, not everything we do or every encounter we have is easy and effortless. In fact, sometimes we are just plain awkward.
You probably look to your horoscope to see how you can change this, but it never works. Are there some situations you just can’t handle no matter how hard you try?
Will you cross the street to avoid running into your ex and their new love or will you just pretend to eat that veal that survived at a dinner party? You don’t want to be rude or hurt someone’s feelings but you’re at a loss in knowing what to do in certain situations.
We've all acted awkward at one point or another. But watch the video below to discover the science behind awkwardness:
When you’re in what’s known as the awkward years, mainly our pre-teen years, you hope that once you get through them, you’ll never have an awkward moment again. But you learn years later that even adults have their moments where they don’t know the social protocol and they mess things up.
For some people, social etiquette comes naturally to them. If a potential situation promises to turn awkward and embarrassing, they know just what to do to defuse the situation. Humor can often take the potential humiliation out of a situation or acknowledging the fact that something excruciating is happening can help in dispersing weird energy.
If you become hyper aware that something you do is awkward, you may give it too much focus and find yourself doing it more instead of stopping. You might be clueless that what you’re doing is awkward and are surprised when learning that you definitely have something that’s painfully awkward about you.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is embrace our awkwardness and realize that it’s just another part of our multi-faceted personalities. And if you are still having trouble, here is the most awkward thing about each zodiac sign.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)

You're like the human fidget spinner — your psychological stress often causes nervous energy which causes you to fidget. You've got to get your extra energy out so you tap your feet, touch your hair or your face, clasp and unclasp your hands, and unconsciously play with whatever is on the table in front of you: a straw wrapper, a glass, your utensils, or a flower arrangement. Your fidgeting takes your attention and focus away from people that are talking to you and make you sometimes seem agitated.

When you're locked in on something like a decision or an answer and nothing can change your mind, it's awkward. You sit there unblinking, arm's crossed, and unwavering. You can wait for however long you need to for the other person to come to their senses.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

You're so changeable which keeps you interesting, but people never know what they're going to get with you which makes them uncomfortable. You don't realize how awkward you come off when one minute you're laughing and smiling, and the next, you're pissed off. Others wonder how careful they need to be when around you. Should they tread carefully or just hope they won't upset you?

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
istock
You never want to hurt someone's feelings, and that includes people you don't know. You'd never send something back in a restaurant or undertip. If someone asks for your criticism, you're reluctant to give it. Yes, you're being thoughtful and sensitive but it makes people feel as if you're not telling the truth or hiding something. You can say what you really feel and people will still like you. Pretending to feel one way and feeling another just makes you come off as awkward.

You give presents to people that you barely know. It's a nice gesture but it often causes more upset than you know. Are they now obligated to get you something? Will you want something from them further down the line? Will they have to be nice to you at all times? You thought it was no big deal but it actually opened up a can of angst and uneasiness.

VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

You correct people all the time, even when it's not appropriate and even when you should let it go. You're brilliant, but sometimes you don't seem to use your head. Is it more important to be the smartest person in the room or let your boss feel that they are? You don't have to put such a fine point on the fact that you know everything. You come off as nerdy and socially awkward.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
istock
There are times you decide that you're not going to be a pushover any longer and that you're going to stand up for yourself. This is great as you do need to stand up for yourself. Unfortunately, when you do this, your timing is off and you come off as less assertive and more awkward. Come on, Libra, it's supposed to be about balance with you. Work up to getting a little more comfortable with being confrontational and assertive; don't just decide and then blast whoever you encounter. You can still be kind and polite when holding on to your ground and sticking up for yourself.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
istock
Your straightforwardness can sometimes come off as awkward. Honesty is most definitely your policy, but do you have to be so blunt all the time? Is the world going to collapse if you just tell the girls' soccer team that they played a good game rather than they're a bunch of talentless twits? Telling a white lie to make someone feel better doesn't make you a big fat liar and it could help you avoid an awkward situation.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
istock
Your inappropriate humor can turn an event into an awkward situation really fast. Know your audience. It's probably not a good idea to do your 5 minutes of material in the hospital waiting room. You know that you're just channeling your stress into comedy but it can come off as insensitivity, uncaring, and stupidity. Think before you tell that knock knock joke at the wake. If you know that the people in attendance have dark senses of humor, then go ahead; if not, just offer your condolences and get out of there.

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
istock
When you go out to dinner with friends, you tend to make things awkward when you painfully divide up the check or you leave early and just leave money for what you ordered but don't include the tax and tip. You don't want to feel as if you're taken advantage of but no one's asking for you to cover their dinner, just that throwing in a couple of extra bucks is often appreciated. When you figure out the bill, you make other people feel like you suspect them of not wanting to pay their share. Money is important but not as important as people.

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
istock
You have your own distinct sense of humor and you don't care if anybody gets your jokes or not. When you say something that you know no one in the group has a reference for, all it's going to do is cause confusion. You can appreciate something on your own, you don't have to share with someone who has no appreciation for it. It's as awkward as watching a comedian bomb. The same goes for over-explaining the joke; thinking that if you give the context and the backstory, the humor will be more understandable when in actuality, it will just suck even more humor out of what you're saying.

When you're talking to someone and your mind wanders, things can get awkward when you suddenly find yourself back in the conversation but with no idea what you were talking about. Your imagination is a wonderful place; however, it's not always appropriate to go there. There are times when you need to be fully present and cognizant of your surroundings. You need to have more confidence in your likability and know that people are interested in what you have to say.
