The ANNOYING Way You Argue, According To Your Zodiac Sign

I enjoy arguing but hate conflict, which may seem like an oxymoron. That's not to say I like all arguing but I like the kind that's a pure exchange of ideas and points of view. I don't like it when the person I'm arguing with refuses to listen to me or even to stop being so rigid.

Whether you enjoy arguing or not, you probably have to do it throughout different times of your life. Did you make it to your car just as the meter maid was writing you up a ticket and you have to try to convince them that you made it there in time, or maybe your bank statement is all wrong and you've got to make the customer service rep see that it was the bank's error, not yours?

In all relationships, there will arguments; there are just some things you may have differing opinions about, but you have to work out some kind of compromise. Arguments can bring relationship issues to the surface. It's much better to get your grievances out as they come up, rather than internalize them until you explode.

There are constructive arguments and destructive arguments, and knowing what not to do when arguing can be extremely beneficial. You don't want to over-react or be unclear about what it is you want to get out of the argument.

Another key to successful arguing is to actually listen, which means trying to keep calm while the other person is speaking. You need to allow your partner to express their feelings without interrupting them or indicating contempt with your body language. In other words, don't make faces or roll your eyes while they're talking, even if you don't agree with what they're saying.

One of the ways in which you can become better at arguing is to know what kind of arguer you are, and your zodiac sign can help with that. For example, if you know that individuals born under your sign have a tendency to shut out a person you disagree with, you'll know in the future to put your energy into being more open.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

While Aries people have many fine qualities, they do have a tendency to be quick-tempered and competitive. They're not good with losing at anything, and that includes arguing. They'll never back down from an argument, even when they know in their heart that they're wrong.

If they're in the middle of an argument, they'll keep at it, never decreasing in energy or intent, until the other person gives up. In addition, Aries must always have the last word.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

It's rare to see a Taurus blow up in an argument; usually, they're very calm with their arguments and evidence (as they've thought out all their points). However, once they've dug their heels in on a matter, it's very difficult to change their mind.

One of the Taurus techniques is to disarm their opponent by asking a lot of rhetorical questions as if that will get them off track. Once the Taurean wins the argument, they're all hugs and kisses, but it may take a while to get to that point.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Because of the multi-sided parts of a Gemini's personality, there isn't a consistent way to their arguing. The good thing is that if the argument gets heated, Gemini won't stay angry for long. They love people and can't stand to have anybody mad at them. Since Geminis are so into communication, sometimes they argue to have fun, and those arguments can be silly and hilarious.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Arguing with a Cancer is a very rare thing — they're almost too sympathetic to not see the other person's point of view. However, since their emotions are very close to the surface, they can get very emotional while arguing.

It's not unlikely for a Cancer to lose it emotionally during an argument, and either get extremely angry, or sad and collapse into a crying jag. The weird thing is, it's the person that the Cancer is arguing with who ends up feeling the worst.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

If an argument gets heated with a Leo, it's going to get loud, but that's OK with Leo. With Leo, there's their way (the right way) and then there's the wrong way, and it's not likely that Leo will give an inch on their argument.

Leos aren't great with compromise or seeing anything from someone else's point of view. Leos are so popular and charming that they can get away with being completely intractable when it comes to a disagreement.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Virgos are able to stay super-calm in the midst of an argument, and that totally disarms anybody who dares to dispute Virgo's knowledge and attention to the details of a problem. You don't want to mess with something that the Virgo has meticulously planned or organized, or you're going to have an argument on your hands.

Don't forget that Virgos can be hypercritical and will often pick a fight if they think something or someone needs to be challenged.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

The reason why Libras try to avoid arguments is because they fear that if they engage in an argument, they'll end up in a heated disagreement. But if a Libra witnesses something unfair or unjust, the will engage, as they can't stand by while an injustice is being carried out. Libras are very chill until they're not; in fact, they can get quite fierce if they're standing up for justice to be served.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

A Scorpio won't shy away from an argument and will ask a lot of difficult questions that will cut the person with whom they're arguing to the quick. Since Scorpios are brilliant, they can see what's going on below the surface of a disagreement and can plan their strategy accordingly.

Ultimately, Scorpios want the truth to come out and stay out. One problem with a Scorpio argument is that even when it's over, it isn't over, and they have no problem bringing it up again days or weeks later.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

Good luck getting your argument across when you're arguing with a Sagittarius. They can go on and on, well after all the logical arguments have been said. Sagittarians have no limits on what they'll say or do, and they certainly don't have any rules of what is socially acceptable.

If the argument doesn't go well, it's not unlikely for a Sagittarius to either leave for a walk to clear their head (as they love being outdoors), or hop on the next plane anywhere (because of their well-known wanderlust).

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

If you don't like being talked to in a condescending way, don't get into an argument with a Capricorn at work. Since they believe that they're the only ones who are able to fix problems and that their way is the only way, they will talk down to the person they're having the argument with.

If a coworker doesn't do things the way the Capricorn thinks they should, there could definitely be some conflict. Capricorns lose their sense of humor when it comes to arguing or being in the middle of a conflict with someone, and they get a little scary.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

An Aquarius doesn't get emotional very often anyway, but this is especially true when they're in the middle of an argument. They usually just tell the other person why they're wrong and why Aquarius is right.

They may seem a bit distant and aloof, but that's because they're weighing everything from every angle in their head. However, if you make a good enough argument, they will come to see things from your point of view.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Pisces are very loving and very forgiving, and if you get into an argument with them they won't hold it against you. They'd really prefer not to have any conflict in their relationships. However, they engage in an argument if they see someone acting in a cruel or mean way, and will do anything to stop it.
