If You're Not Into Me, Man Up And Say So
I refuse to continue to let this sh*t slide.
Dating shouldn't be this hard, but for some reason guys seem to have completely lost their decency and common human respect. I'm sick of it. I'm done with hanging out on the sidelines and waiting for guys to show me concrete signs to assure me things between us are actually heading somewhere.
When the progressive silence grows deeper, I just wish they would man up and say what's really going on. When they fall out of contact and switch the pace at which things were going, I know what's about to happen. But apparently, they lack the balls to articulate it to me.
Guys, it's pretty simple — if you're not into me, just man the f*ck up and say so. Here's why.
1. I don't need the drama of not knowing.
I don't need to hang in suspense wondering what you're thinking or which assh*le way you're going to disappear from my life. Will it be ghosting? Will it be by unfriending me on social media without a word as to why? Will it be by keeping me in the bench and throwing me into a rotation of your own personal convenience? How original. I refuse to continue to let this sh*t slide.
2. I deserve to know the truth.
It shouldn't be a terrifying endeavor for you to have the common decency to let me know if you're no longer feeling things with me. I'd appreciate your honesty, and even if things feel awkward at the moment, I'd move forward with more ease than if you completely leave me hanging with no explanation whatsoever. It's pretty cruel to leave me with lingering questions, so grow some courage and rip the Band-Aid off quickly.
3. This doesn't need to be so complicated.
It's really not a hard concept to grasp. When you want to end a relationship, or the beginning of what could be one, ending things thoughtfully is far more admirable than avoiding the subject completely. If more guys could man up to this fact and act with a higher level of respect, the dating world would be a much better place.
4. We have the opportunity to end this like mature adults.
This can go one of two ways. You can either ghost me or leave me hanging which only breeds a negative outcome, or you can tell me straight up so that we can part ways peacefully. It's your call. You're only making things difficult for yourself and your own personal growth by avoiding the sh*t you can't handle. Man the f*ck up.
5. It's selfish to leave someone hanging because you're a coward.
Just because you don't want to have an uncomfortable conversation doesn't mean you have the right to avoid it. What does that do for your character? If you want to be a good man, you need to act like it first.
Like I said, it's completely cowardly to avoid me and try to escape into the night unnoticed. Newsflash: we always notice! And women always hate you even more for acting in this assh*le regard.
6. I deserve to have closure.
A real ending gives me the control over myself to move forward with my own personal journey with a greater sense of ease. You may not technically owe me anything, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do the right thing. I'd rather say goodbye thoughtfully than curse your name and every memory we shared.
7. I'm sick of this bullsh*t behavior.
There's really no excuse as to why guys keep pulling this. It's unacceptable. If you have a problem with communicating the hard things, you shouldn't be dating anyone at all.
8. Your honesty makes it easier for us both to move forward in peace.
A hard dose of honesty will be hard to spit out, but you'll feel much more liberated when you do. Not every ending will go smoothly — some will be more emotional than others — but both you and I, or whoever else you lose interest in, will be grateful in the long run. In the end, with each uncomfortable conversation, you'll be learning to be a better man. Why wouldn't you want that?
9. I'm not an idiot, so stop treating me as such.
I'm not a moron and I can usually tell when things are going in that direction. The longer silences and the wavering of plans are usually a surefire sign that this thing isn't going to work.
Believe it or not, it's completely fine if you're not into me. I'm a grown ass woman and I'll get over it like I always do, so man up and tell me the truth so we can move along peacefully with our lives. I'd rather wish you the best than wish I'd never met you at all.
