Artist Transforms Everyday Food Into Stunning Works Of Art
You've got to see these creations!
With the ever-changing world comes the ever-changing approach to art and expression. From the artist who re-imagined Disney princesses as velociraptors to the photographer who captures couples in vacuum-sealed bags, the creativity of some people just never ceases to amaze us.
With that said, a Romanian artist has something new to add to the art plate... quite literally, too. Dan Cretu brings a whole new meaning to food art by expertly turning oranges into bicycles and cabbages into brains.
"All objects and things around us daily are possible subjects for me," he said in an interview with Daily Mail.
Cretu's creations are all fresh, with no digital alterations. So far, he's gained over 100,000 Tumblr and 6,000 Instagram followers.
Pizza Hut UK was so impressed by his ability to turn food into magnificent creations that they asked him to create something out of items from their in-house salad bar.
"The challenge is to transform a common object that we don't notice anymore into something unusual, alive, and appealing," he said.
These creations look good enough to eat. And you probably could, since Cretu's art only has an average lifespan of 4 hours.
But their ingenuity is captured in photos that will most definitely last forever:
