The 7 Dumbest Things Kristen Stewart Has Ever Said About Love
Kristen Stewart has said a lot of questionable things about L-O-V-E.
Kristen Stewart, by virtue of her role as Bella Swan, the heroine and love interest of that sparkly vampire and flawless creature known as Edward Cullen, is often asked about love. Her answers are usually candid, but in light of the fact that she was caught cheating on her real-life BF and co-star (and now ex) Robert Pattinson, her words often feel like an act of foreshadowing or hypocritical. In essence, she says some dumb quotes about love.
It's not exactly fair to be so judgmental about her words — and hey, she even wrote a poem about love and shared it with Marie Claire — but given her somewhat defiant statements and her generally grumpy demeanor, her words become a little bit easier to dissect:
1. Stewart offered this assessment, which starts out strong and then peters out and ends in a cop out, to Marie Claire this year: "You don't know who you will fall in love with. You just don't. You don't control it. Some people have certain things, like, 'That's what I'm going for,' and I have a subjective version of that. I don't pressure myself. If you fall in love with someone, you want to own them—but really, why would you want that? You want them to be what you love. I'm much too young to even have an answer for that question." Wait, didn't she just answer that question?

2. This one is a doozy. "I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them," the actress told Elle a few years ago. Okay, so let's get this straight. She only cheapened the main relationship in her life, you know, by cuckolding him and cheating on him with a married man. She may not discuss 'em, but she is okay with bulldozing 'em. Gotcha, K. Stew!

3. This year, Stewart defiantly declared, "I stand by every mistake I've ever made, so judge away." She isn't being semantically specific, but how can that not be about her relationship with Pattinson? It almost sounds like she is not sorry for embarrassing and hurting someone she loved.

4. "I think romance is anything honest. As long as it's honest, it's so disarming," the impeccably dressed and infinitely stylish yet often sour-pussed star told Harper's Bazaar. Again, we can't help but think about her cheating on E. Cullen. Sorry, we mean R. Pattinson.

5. "Maybe I'm completely different from everyone else," the actress formerly known as Bella Swan said. "There are a lot of girls who can't wait to get married and plan their wedding a long time in advance. I'm not like that." Not being swept away by the pomp and circumstance of weddings is hardly original or "completely different." It's why there are Elvis chapels in Vegas and city hall elopements, yo!

6. "Good relationship advice for me tends to be being honest and knowing yourself. Don't be an asshole. Don't be mean. Don't take shit. Don't settle," Stewart told Glamour. Is it us or is this a bit contradictory? Sometimes love is about doing all those don'ts.

7. Stewart's public apology to R. Pattz after getting caught canoodling her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders was no doubt heartfelt and sincere, but it felt rushed and reactionary, and more "Oops, I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar" than anything else. Her statement is below: "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
