It's long been established that Ryan Gosling is the perfect boyfriend: He's gorgeous, he's smart, he's talented, he's funny and he seems to be exceedingly charming. But was all that too much for Eva Mendes?
The pair has been dating since 2011 when they met on the set of The Place Beyond The Pines, but sources are whispering that their love may be over ... and that it's actually Mendes behind the split.
An insider claims that Mendes has been stepping out on the living Ken Doll that is Ryan Gosling with her ex, Peruvian filmmaker and Vida homewares business partner, George Augusto. Mendes and Augusto dated from 2002 to 2010, so there's a whole lot of history there. The spy says, "They are still very much intertwined ... she's started saying things about how George is the only guy who really gets her."
What's more, apparently Mendes isn't ready for the kind of commitment that Gosling wants.
"Ryan's friends know he is ready to settle down, 100 percent," the source added. "Eva loves Ryan, but she's very nontraditional when it comes to what she wants. She's phobic about commitment. That's the root of the problem."
However, other reports suggest it's the opposite: That Mendes wants a ring and babies, while Gosling wants to keep working. "Until now she hasn't pressured him," another source said, "but she's just a few months shy of 40 and told Ryan that if he doesn't want to start a family with her, she wants to find a man who's ready and willing."
Ugh. Just look at these two. It's Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling. Anyone who doesn't want babies or a commitment with either one is probably certifiable.
