As if being single and dating isn't difficult enough, add to it that you're a recovering alcoholic and it all becomes doubly complicated. After all, dating often involves drinking, and while you may not want to make a big deal about your addiction, you also don't want to be dishonest about it.

In this video, clinical psychologist and YourTango Expert Dr. Susan Pazak explains that it's a good idea to be upfront with your dates about being in AA. Dr. Pazak says it's something to be proud of, not ashamed about. However, she adds, "if you are uncomfortable, or think you may be judged, then perhaps you'd want to wait until you determine whether the person is the right person for you."
