Football Player Weds His Real Life Stalker

In the annals of wacky celebrity weddings that should have never taken place, this one might take the cake! NFL player Chris Chambers recently married his former mistress and stalker, Stacey Bernice Saunders, in Las Vegas. Yeah, WTF is right!! Looks like Dancing with the Stars contestant Chad Ochocinco might not be the only NFL player to get his own show—this one's got reality TV written all over it. 

The Chiefs' starting wide receiver filed not one, but eleven separate misdemeanor counts of stalking and harassment against his new wife back in 2009. At the time, Chambers was married and playing for the San Diego Chargers while apparently sleeping with Saunders on the side. Whether Chambers wasn't giving his mistress enough attention or Saunders just wasn't content being relegated to other woman status, we may never know, but according to the restraining order, she began harassing both Chambers and his family in the summer of 2009. Chambers told the court that Saunders "launched an incessant attack verbally on me, and now my wife, her mother, and her sister" and sent texts, e-mails and phone calls that were "abusive, vulgar and irrational" to both him and his family. 7 Celebrities Stalked For Love 

Although we wouldn't normally condone stalking as a get-him-to-propose tactic, in this case, it seems to have worked. Not only was the restraining order against Saunders dropped, but shortly after, Chambers filed for divorce from his wife, citing "irreconcilable differences." Um, more like a cheating spouse and a stalking mistress than "irreconcilable differences," but guess that combo doesn't have its own category yet.

While Chambers' ex-wife couldn't quite forgive Saunders or her husband for the affair and stalking that ensued, looks like it's water under the bridge for the football star. Not only did he forgive his stalker, but he decided to spend the rest of his life with her! So moral of the story, ladies: apparently persistence does pay off!
