What should I do in this situation? How do I overcome this?

Published on December 13, 2012 by brittbratt94

I've been "talking' to this guy for about a month and a half. now and I've grown to really like him. He is 22 and Im 18. he introduced me to his friends, I intoduced him to mine, and he even met my dad. He held my hand and even kissed me around his friends, and It proved to me that he actually does like me. However he's been acting weird and I told him i want to have a talk and see where he sees things going with us, and he said yes I agree. But he left me hanging. So my friend texted him asking what is wrong and he explained that he is looking for more of a long term relationship, and he is ready to settle down get married and have babies and he knows I have a lot of growing up to do so he wants to call it off. I am definately not ready for that. I just graduated highschool and Im in college now. I just wish he would have called it off way sooner because now it kind of hurts to know I can't give him what he wants.. now that I already know what he was going to tell me should I just cut off all comunication with him now? or end up having that talk with him in person? seeing him will be kind of hard on me. I don't know what to do

When 2 people have different goals, it's not going to work. Don't contact him again. If he calls you, tell him you want two different things, which you had to find out from a 3rd party (doesn't sound like he's mature enough to start a family to me), so you'll be moving on and won't be in touch with him anymore. You need closure. Have fun in college and good luck. Men don't normally mature until their late twenties, so it's best to concentrate on your studies and have fun with friends.
