Break with boyfriend

Published on May 6, 2013 by aetcsjir31212

I've been with my boyfriend for over a year. Everything was going great until about a month ago. He started acting really weird and was barely talking to me. I had him over and we talked it out and everything was fine. Then about a week later he started doing the same thing all over again. On Tuesday night, I just got so fed up with it that I called him and we were on the phone for over a half hour while I cried. He told me that the reason why he's being like this is because he is tired of being taken advantage of and he knows that I've never taken advantage of him and there's a lot of people that have never taken advantage of him either and he's acting the same exact way toward them and they're taking it just as hard too. I told him that it's different with me because I'm his girlfriend. He told me that it would be best for us to take a break because the way he has been acting toward me, I'll end up hating him and he doesn't want me hating him. Also because he was tired of making me miserable because I didn't deserve that and he felt horrible that he wasn't being there for me when I needed him and he said that he wasn't being the best boyfriend and that I didn't deserve to have to deal with that anymore and that I deserve to be happy. The next day we decided to take the break and he stopped talking to me that day, but later on that night he texted me telling me that he was sorry that he didn't text me all day because something came up and told me that I was an amazing girl and that he really does love me and that he hopes that I don't stay mad at him and that one day he'll be back to his old self and everything will get better for the both of us. The next day he didn't talk to me all day so I texted him and told him good luck on his final and he said "thank you, I really appreciate it <3" and after that he hasn't talked to me since..What should I do? And how much time should I give him before I should just give up completely?
