Once You Stop Chasing The Wrong Guys — The Right One Will Catch You
It’s science.
Think about how much time you’ve wasted worrying over guys that in the grand scheme of things ended up being pretty insignificant.
Scary, right?
You can’t help but feel that little spark of hope and possibility whenever you first meet somebody new.
You haven’t known them long enough for them to piss you off or do anything wrong, so the encounter is usually a positive one, and you’re left wondering if anything will come of it.
Sometimes it does. Sometimes they ask for your number. Sometimes they text you. Sometimes you go out on a date. And sometimes you even do the dirty.
But sometimes — OK, most times — it’s usually a whole lot of nothing.
I always say dating is a numbers game. The more guys you meet and talk to, the better chance you have of finding someone you actually click with. But you can’t do that if you’re constantly getting caught up in someone you’ve literally known for five minutes.
It’s never a smart move to ignore other guys in the pursuit of one, especially if the one you’re pursuing isn’t really giving you the time of day.
Sure, sparks were flying that one time you hung out (or maybe you just thought they were), but if it’s been a few days and nothing has progressed, it means nothing will.
You should never place all your eggs in one basket when it comes to dating. You should never make someone a priority when they’ve only made you an option. You should remain open to the possibility of meeting someone else until it’s crystal clear you’re in a relationship.
When you focus too much on one guy, other ones pass you by. You miss opportunities, stop going out and avoid the present moment.
If you’re constantly thinking about why this one guy isn’t texting you, then you’ll miss the cute guy that’s currently eyeing you from across the room.
A guy who really likes you won’t play games, and they won’t make you feel like an afterthought or a second choice.
But you only get those kinds of guys if you’re truly ready and open to meeting them.
So let go of the asshole who you’ve been hanging onto for weeks now.
Pat yourself on your back, remind yourself it’s normal to get sidetracked sometimes, and let the situation go.
Tell yourself it’s not happening, and there’s nothing you can do about it, but move on.
And once you do move on, you’ll realize the world is a big place and there are tons of boys to chase. Actually, make that men.
But remember, the right one will chase YOU.
