'90 Day Fiancé': Did Tom Brooks And Avery Warner Date? Why They Were So Weird Together On The Tell-All
Tom slid into Avery's DMs. What happened between them?
The 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days tell-all episode aired this week and the social distance didn't stop the drama. The couples and ex-couples aired their grievances via video-conference and some serious tea got spilled in the process.
Two couples on the show, Tom Brooks and Darcey Silva and Avery Warner and Ash Naeck were there to talk about why they're not together anymore. But in a surprise twist, it turned out that Tom Brooks had tried to go out with Avery Warner sometime in the recent past. Following their 90 Day Fiancé season, he had sent her a DM saying he found her attractive and suggested they go out. When she agreed to consider it, he immediately texted Ash to tell him what was going on.
Did Avery Warner and Tom Brooks date?
Read on for spoilers.
Tom slid into Avery's DMs.
Warner started the season in love with Ash Naeck, a relationship coach from Australia. They had their share of trouble on the show but they had been trying to make it work up until recently, despite many serious conflicts between them.
During one of Warner's breaks from Naeck, Brooks got wind that she was available and decided to take his shot. Warner described the Instagram convo in the tell-all. “I’m not in a relationship, but what happened was when Tom found out I wasn’t in a relationship, he came to me and said, ‘You are really attractive. We could have dinner together. Maybe I’m not your type or maybe I am,'" she told the camera. "I was like, ‘First off, there’s absolutely nothing that is going to happen.’ And he screen-shotted my communicating to him, saying like, ‘Yeah we can hang out.’ And sent it to Ash and was like, ‘Look what Avery’s doing,'”

Brooks admits that is all happened — except for the screenshot.
Brooks, who was single at the time of filming, defended his actions but emphasized that he was permitted to ask people out of he wants to. This is technically true, but at the same time, asking out a TV castmate on a show that's about being in a relationship is a new twist — even for 90 Day Fiancé. That's usually the kind of thing you'd expect in shows like Ex On The Beach. However, Brooks was adamant that he was within his rights to reach out to Warner and he said he never sent a screenshot to Naeck.
“Yes, she’s an attractive woman. I can ask people whatever I want. I have no one to answer to,” he said. “It wasn’t me that split up two days before with her boyfriend, but hey, I’m flattered. Thank you for saying yes and thank you for then realizing it was a bad mistake to actually entertain the idea and then say no.”
Brooks is launching a new website.
Was there a screenshot or not?
Naeck had been the one to tell Warner there had been a screenshot, something he later recanted but Brooks really had turned right around and told Naeck that his love-interest was considering going out with him. The implication was definitely that the interaction wasn't platonic. “Tom contacted me and just said, ‘Hey, by the way, did you know’ … He didn’t know, actually, that we were separated until I think he talked to Avery,” Naeck said.
What no one explained is why Brooks was asking out a woman who had a boyfriend and then why he felt the need to let the boyfriend know what he had done. It seems like a move intended to do nothing but stir up drama. Silva and Warner agreed on-camera that Brooks is only in this whole reality TV situation for himself, not for finding real love.
Brooks was not with Darcey Silva when he was hitting on Warner.
As fans know, Brooks wasn't dating Silva while this season was filming. In fact, they had broken up months before cameras started rolling and their segments were a tortuous set of discussions about all the reasons they were never getting back together. By the end of the season, Brooks was boarding a plane for Canada to see a woman named Shannon, who he's no longer dating, also revealed on the tell-all. It's not totally clear if he had started dating Shannon when he was creeping in Warner's DMs.
Did Avery and Tom ever end up going out?
Unless there's something that neither Warner nor Brooks admitted to on the show, they never met up after the DM incident. And after the snarky exchange on the show, it seems like they never will. Warner straight up said she finds him untrustworthy.
Avery and Ash are through as well.
At the top of the show, host Shaun Robinson asked Warner and Naeck about the status of their relationship and they admitted that they have broken up. Their whole relationship was a series of breakups and makeups before this. Naeck accused Warner of ghosting him in the past. She brought up an incident when he apparently wiped all the photos of her from his Instagram account.
They also argued on-camera about him telling people he was single, even though they were in a relationship. Shortly before filming, Warner had asked to take a break so she could re-evaluate her feelings. Naeck responded by ending the relationship completely. When a castmate asked Warner if she ever worried that she would look back and think of Ash as the one that got away and she replied firmly, "Absolutely not."
As it stands now, all four of these cast members are separated from the person they started the season with. Brooks may have a new girlfriend — Amanda McAdams — from outside the TLC orbit but the rest are single and say they're focusing on themselves and their families now.
