6 Zodiac Signs With Dependent Emotional Attachments, According To Astrology

getty When I first came to the area in which I'm presently living, I made friends with one woman who came with a built-in, nonstop, ever-present husband. What I mean by this is, there was nothing this woman could do on her own without her husband involved.
She swore up and down that she was this totally independent loner type who craved her own private relationships with friends, yet not once did she ever consent to doing anything without her sidekick, the hovering hubby. She also harbored a deep, resounding hatred for him, which she confessed to me one evening when she managed to get away for an hour.
I could feel that she was uncomfortable, being away from her husband for almost an entire hour. She couldn't handle life "out there" without him, backing her up, providing some sense of security — one that only they could give each other. But the truth was, he was also exceedingly jealous of his wife's desire to be with those other than him, and he made his presence known.
This dependent emotional attachment, unfortunately, plagues some select zodiac signs in astrology, causing them to be inseparable.
As with the woman and her husband, though both claim to be independent and not needy in the slightest, all I saw was neediness and neurosis; they simply couldn't handle life unless they other one was in plain sight. On some level, they made an unspoken pact with each other: we hate each other, but we must be together, no matter what.
The duo, though bound by resentment, refused to let go or let anyone into their world unless the two of them moved in tandem, together. It was the strongest example of dependent emotional attachment that I've ever seen.
So, which zodiac signs show the most dependent emotional attachments?
1. Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Here's where Gemini's dual nature does them a disservice. This sign is quite codependent; they want a partner and they want to become attached emotionally. They attract partners who feel the same way, but in Gemini's case, their "other" side takes over halfway through the relationship and starts to resent the other person for making them feel so attached and vulnerable.
Gemini damages the relationship by playing both ends; they want emotional and dire attachments to another person, while they despise being so dependent upon another.
2. Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
You will find Sagittarius checking their phone throughout dinner to see where their partner is. This nonstop concern for what another person is doing is part of a profound need to feel less alone in the world than they already do.
Independent Sagittarius loves to be alone, until it hits them on an existential level; in truth, they fear loneliness. Being alone is fine until it's too much, then they panic. They turn their fear into emotional need and find themselves someone who won't mind their constant need for emotional fulfillment.
Like Gemini, once they get what they want, they being to resent it, so being emotionally attached to another is an ironic kick in the face for Sagittarius.
3. Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo wants to seal the deal in point-five seconds, which means, if you're in a partnership with a Virgo, they will demand marriage and a contract that states you're going nowhere without them. They really need this "solidity." They can't function unless they know who is who and what goes where... yes, it's a control freak thing, but that's who they are.
They attach themselves to a person for the reasons of security — to know they have someone they can call their very own is everything to Virgo. Virgo doesn't just date; they get involved for one purpose: sealing the deal with marriage. Extreme emotional attachment.
4. Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer wants to trust a person forever, and that's a very tall order for just about anyone. If Cancer begins to trust you, you get put on a pedestal — one that you may never, ever come down off of.
So, it's hard to be in a codependent relationship with a Cancer simply because you are then obligated to be perfect, for them, forever. They will forgive the worst deeds if it allows them a sense of security, which will eat at them over time.
Trust is everything to Cancer, and if this is destroyed, their emotional attachment will render them incapable of moving on, completely catatonic. They need people to attach themselves to, and they feel like satellites in space if they are not partnered up with someone just like them.
5. Pisces (February 19 - March 10)
Pisces not only depends heavily on the love and attention of others, they are then addicted to it. It's a need within them to have everything in place, and that means relationships.
Emotional dependency is a good thing to Pisces. It gives them the feeling that they are not alone and that they will be taken care of. Pisces looks to others for decision-making. Being a sign of duality — the Two Fishes — they are always somewhat indecisive.
Whatever qualities they may lack, they seek in others. They fully give themselves to whomever they trust, love and feel an attachment to; it's a necessity in a Pisces life, as is this need to attach themselves to another.
6. Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Libra uses emotional attachment as a way to get out of things they are less attached to. Libra will become fixated with helping a family member. Say, for instance, caring for one's aging mother. Libra will attach themselves so hard, so intensely and so emotionally to their mother so they can get out of other personal relationships.
If you attach yourself to a Libra in a romantic relationship, know that they will never return the emotional output as they have reserved all their emotion for their parent. They will use the sick parent as an excuse to get out of creating a new emotional bond with another. They are attached to family, not to lovers.
