Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has missed all but four games this NBA season due to a broken hand. So, when he was trending on Twitter on Friday, fans got excited, thinking that maybe his recovery was quicker than anticipated and he was ready to get back on the court. Sadly, that was not the case. Instead, Curry's fans got an eyeful of the NBA star: There was a Steph Curry nude photo leak on Twitter. Or rather, an alleged Steph Curry nude photo leak, as the photos don't show a face, so there's no definitive way to know whether the nudes do, in fact, belong to the California point guard.

Steph Curry learned first-hand today that having nude photos (if they are, indeed, him) can be a liability. The original post of the photos on Twitter has since been deleted, so no one knows who's responsible for the nude photo leak itself. However, obtaining private photos through hacking and then distributing the photos is illegal and in violation of both federal and California laws.

1. The Steph Curry nude photo leak: His agent denies the photos are of him.

Curry's agent immediately issued a statement denying that the nude photos leaked to Twitter were the two time NBA MVP. Via Alex Raskin, the sports news editor for The Daily Mail, Curry's agent said the photos were 'absolutely not Curry.' Furthermore, an anonymous source from the Golden State Warriors allegedly said: "it's absolutely not him," according to Golden State Warrior beat writer Connor Letourneau.

2. Was his wife, Aeysha Curry, in the photos?

When the news about the Steph Curry nude photo leak first broke, it was originally reported that his wife Ayesha was also in the snaps.  The 31-year-old chef and restauranteur can breathe a sigh of relief though, as she's not in the photos. It isn't a far fetch to believe that Ayesha was in the photos, as she has admitted to sending her husband hundreds of racy photos via text.

3. Nude photo leaks happen more often these days.

It is a sad fact that nude photo leaks of celebrities happen more and more often. A few years ago, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, and other celebrities had their iCloud accounts hacked and private photos of them leaked. The man who hacked Jennifer Lawrence and other celebrities' photos was charged with and pleaded guilty to a felony violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. He was sentenced to eight months in prison.

4. California has a revenge porn law.

California has made 'revenge porn' illegal. The photos posted, whether they are actually of Curry or not, violate the revenge porn law. California Penal Code Section 647(j) (4) states that it is illegal for someone to: “intentionally distributes the image of the intimate body part or parts of another identifiable person ... under circumstances in which the persons agree or understand that the image shall remain private, the person distributing the image knows or should know that distribution of the image will cause serious emotional distress, and the person depicted suffers that distress.” Violation of this law is a misdemeanor punishable with up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

5. The Golden State Warriors have not addressed the Steph Curry nude photo leak.

The nude photos posted sometime in the wee hours of the morning of December 20th have been removed. But screenshots still exist. (That's the Internet for you.) But the removal wasn't swift enough to keep the NSFW photos from going viral. The Golden State Warriors do not plan to comment publicly on the matter. At the time of this writing, no one knows who leaked the photos and no one has come forward to take credit.

6. Ayesha Curry poked fun at the "scandal" in her Instagram story.

In a now-expired Instagram story, Ayesha Curry posted a photo of her holding a can of Guayaki Yerba Mate with the caption: "I love this drink SO much! But the [eggplant emoji] flavor is my fave!" She tagged her husband in the story and used the in the story along with the hashtag #hailtotheredskins. He responded in his own now-expired Instagram story, writing: "@ayeshacurry ig story got me crying laughing. So many [clown emojis] out here."
