According to Yahoo, Demi Lovato was the one who kicked off the rumors about her and Mike Johnson dating when she posted on social media that she had a crush on the former Bachelorette star.
2. Like most publicist-arranged marketing tools/budding romances, Demi Lovato and Mike Johnson are still 'new' & 'having fun.'
"While Johnson previously denied any involvement with Lovato beyond Instagram flirtation, a source told People this weekend that things are finally heating up between the pair. A source dished that the singer and Johnson are “having fun and getting to know each other," adding, "They’ve been talking privately for a bit and hanging out," said Fox News.
3. Mike Johnson said that he would "love" to go on a date with Demi Lovato.
According to E! News, Mike Johnson admitted that it would be a dream of his to go on a date with Demi Lovato, and went on to describe his "dream date" with the pop star. And it's just as gooey and crap-tastic as you'd think, so we're not going to get into it here.
4. Some people think that this is all a publicity stunt to keep Mike Johnson in the news because he wasn't named the new Bachelor.
In a different report for E! News, it was reported that some people find this whole "show-mance" to be a cheap publicity stunt to promote Mike Johnson more since he wasn't chosen to be the new Bachelor. (That title went to Peter Weber, who is definitely a nice guy, but certainly no Mike Johnson.)
5. Others believe Hannah Brown was the one who set Mike Johnson up with Demi Lovato.
"When Us Weekly asked Hannah Brown whether she played matchmaker. “What?! Well, uh …” she responded with a laugh. "Mike and I still have a great relationship, and Demi has been so supportive of me,” she continued. “So, I mean, they’re both great humans, and if they’re into each other, then that’s great," reported Us Weekly.

According to a different report for Yahoo (via Entertainment Tonight), Demi Lovato and Mike Johnson went on one date, and it went well. However, they're still in the "getting to know you" phase.
