Who Is Claudia Oshry? New Details On The Social Media Star Who Claims Cuba Gooding Jr. Assaulted Her When She Was 16
She said it happened eight years ago.
The Morning Toast's Claudia Oshry is a comedienne and social media star. During an episode of her podcast, she accused Cuba Gooding Jr. of sexually assaulting her. This new claim comes just days after the 51-year-old actor addressed claims that he groped a woman in a New York CIty. Gooding has denied all allegations against him and offered to turn himself in to the NYPD in order to prove the claims are false.
On Tuesday, October 15, Cuba Gooding Jr. actually did turn himself in to the NYPD. He pleaded not guilty to one count of forcible touching and one count of sexual abuse in the third degree regarding a new accuser.
Who is Claudia Oshry? Who is the new accuser? The indictment was unsealed, too, so let's take a look at all the new details of the case against Cuba Gooding, Jr.
1. Her allegations
On the Wednesday, June 12th episode of her podcast The Morning Toast, she discussed her alleged assault with her co-host Jackie O. The segment started off with Jackie reading an article from Page Six about how Cuba Gooding, Jr. offered to turn himself in over the allegations that he groped a 30-year-old woman in a Manhattan nightclub on Sunday, June 9th. Claudia said: “Okay, all I have to say is me too. I don’t know if I’ve ever considered myself to be a victim of sexual assault because I’m not. There are people who are real victims and I would never compare myself to them. But yes, when I was in high school, I was f*cking 16 years old, Cuba Gooding Jr. put his finger up my butt and I felt wild. Like I felt so, like, I don’t even know what the right word is. Now it’s just become a part of who I am. Now I use it as schtick in my show on tour. Like, if you want to put your finger up my butt without my consent, fine, but I’m going to use it for all that it’s worth.”
2. How she's handling it
Oshray is using what allegedly happened to her and spun it into comedy on her Dirty Jeans tour. She found the experience of a stranger putting a finger up her butt so outrageous that it is funny. She does understand, however, that not everyone will find it as funny as she does.
3. She claims there are others
Claudia went on to say that there are other women he's assaulted and how many have to be groped before Gooding faces the consequences. “At the end of the day, when I tell people this at my meet-and-greets, and just anyone who’s ever come to my show, there’s at least once every show, someone who comes up to me and there like, ‘oh my god, me and my friends were at a club and the same thing happened to me or the same thing happened to my friend.’ It’s like this is not the first time that I’ve heard, but this is the first time that I heard the police were involved. And good on this girl, because how many f*cking people is he going to grope before one of them calls the police.”
4. It happened 8 years ago
Claudia has been talking about her alleged assault at the hands of Gooding for about two years. She was 16 at the time. She said: “I was a kid who was 16 underage at a club. I thought I was going to be in trouble for being in a club so I just shut my mouth.” According to Radar, a source said that Gooding has been accused of predatory behavior around young girls in New York for decades.
Cuba Gooding Jr. denies that he ever stuck his finger up Oshry's butt. He also denies that he groped the woman at the nightclub. He turned himself in to the NYPD on June 13th and again this week.
5. The new accuser
ET obtained court documents that reveal that Gooding pinched the butt of a woman without her consent at TAO nightclub in New York City on October 24, 2018. The woman claims she confronted Gooding after he pinched her and he said he pinched her back not her butt. The new accuser also alleges that the actor made a sexually suggestive remark to her on that same night.
6. The indictment
The indictment was unsealed on Tuesday and it includes 12 more witnesses with allegations against Gooding. He is not being charged in these allegations, rather, they are included to show a pattern of behavior over a period of time. Two of the claims date back to 2001 and 2006, respectively. Gooding's next court appearance is on December 13.
