No matter where your low self-esteem might come from, it's important to know that it's not a quick fix – you can't switch to positive thinking and hope your self-esteem goes up within a week; it takes time.
When we get into this vicious cycle of negative self-talk, it's easy for us to convince ourselves that we're not good enough or that we don't deserve certain things because we didn't really earn them. Low self-esteem isn't something that just affects your mood – it can affect your whole life.

Aries has low self-esteem because he's always criticizing himself. His competitiveness isn't just because he wants to be the best of the best – it's also because he feels like he constantly has to improve as a person.
People see Aries as an incredibly hard worker; someone who is always striving to reach his goals and set new ones. Because of the immense pressure, Aries' self-esteem drops when he feels like he can't live up to this image.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus' need for security rules his life – security in relationships, in his finances, and in his career. The reason he has low self-esteem is because, no matter how hard he tries to stay on top of his finances and career, he's still very much insecure.
His insecurity mainly comes from thinking about how he stacks up against his friends and family. Sure, he has a stable job and some money stashed away from emergencies, but in the back of his mind, he's always wondering if maybe he's not doing as well as he should at this point in his life.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini has never been the best at being able to make decisions and stick with them. He tends to overthink things and question whether or not he's actually doing life right.

Cancer puts too much emphasis on his relationships – but if you tell him that, he'll likely disagree with you. When he gets in an argument with someone he loves, or a relationship eventually fizzles out and ends, he blames himself for it all, even if it's not his fault.

Leo is one of the hardest-working zodiac signs. He is constantly pushing himself to achieve his goals and make a name for himself. While he thrives best in a fast-paced, busy environment, it can also lead to some seriously low self-esteem.
The reason he has low self-esteem is because he puts too much pressure on himself to succeed. He wants to prove to people that he is the success they all believe him to be, even if it means pushing himself way too hard. He'd rather keep his doubts to himself, if only to save face.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo is one of those zodiac signs that tends to overthink everything, even when he tries to get out of his head and be rational. But even when he tells himself that there's nothing to worry about – about anything – his mind still runs wild.
The reason for Virgo's low self-esteem is because he creates problems in his head that don't exist. He might play out an argument between him and someone else that will never happen, tell himself that everyone is waiting for him to fail, or tell himself that no matter how hard he works he'll never be as good as everyone else. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra is one of the quieter zodiac signs, which means that he's not one for being outspoken or assertive. While this is absolutely no problem (he has plenty of other strengths), it can still be the reason for his low self-esteem... at least, according to other people it is.
Libra can be very confident when he doesn't listen to the opinions of others. But the reason he has low self-esteem is because he listens to others. He also has a hard time speaking up an asserting himself when it matters most, and when people latch onto this weakness of his, he convinces himself that he's destined to stay insecure and down on himself.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
As much as Scorpio tries, he can't stop himself from thinking about what could have been, instead of looking to the future. For him, life is about growing and learning, but he can't do that when he's stuck in the past.
The reason Scorpio has low self-esteem is because he has a tendency to hold onto the past and let resentments rule his life. He wants to be able to go through life as an optimist, but instead he's a realist; a realist who can't help but bring himself down because of his past mistakes.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius likes to believe that there is nothing in the world that can sway him, that he's his own person through and through. While this is certainly admirable, this mindset doesn't always work out that way, does it?

Capricorn joins the ranks of some of the hardest working zodiac signs. He's the type to get up early and stay up late just to get sh*t done, even if it eventually kills him. But even when he's at his busiest, he seems totally confident in himself.
Of course, Capricorn still deals with low self-esteem, just like the rest of the zodiac signs. The reason is because he's incredibly hard on himself, even when he's doing well in life. He beats himself up for every little thing because he sometimes feels like he doesn't deserve what he's earned.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius likes to believe that he's on top of it all, but that's not always true. In fact, behind Aquarius' confidence – and nonchalance when things don't turn out the way he hoped – is actually a lot of self-doubt.
