Instagram Mark Harmon announced he is taking time off from NCIS to work on his marriage with Pam Dawber. Divorce rumors began circulating when the actor stated his reason for his break from the CBS show is to bring back the "spark" in his marriage but rest assured, the rumors were shot down quickly.
"They’re closer than ever, even after all these years,” a source said. “Pam’s been Mark’s rock through family dramas, court battles and on-set wars with his costars," a source close to the couple told Radar Online.
Harmon and Dawber, both 67, are planning on celebrating their upcoming 32nd anniversary on a European getaway, which will include stops in Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and Germany, the source added.

1. They are working on their marriage, not ending it.
An insider revealed to Radar Online that although their marriage is strong, Harmon and Dawber want to reignite the passion in their decades-long relationship.
“A lot of people look up to Pam and Mark as the perfect couple, but Mark wants to put the spark back in the marriage with this trip,” the source said. “They put family first and take time for themselves!”

2. Dawber ended her showbiz career for her family.
Dawber was an actress known for her appearances on sitcoms like “Mork & Mindy” and “My Sister Sam," but called it quits in Hollywood after the birth of her two sons, Sean, 30, and Ty, 26. Ending her career in acting was the best thing she did for her marriage and family, she said.
“I don’t think two people can work all the time in show business and stay married,” Dawber explained. “I was in a number one show. I had my own deal. I got to do Broadway. I got to do musical theater. I got to do cartoon voices. I did everything you can do in this business, and then I had children and it’s like, ‘I’m not going to chase this fame thing.'”

Harmon and Dawber married in 1987 and recently renewed their vows in 2017 on their 30th anniversary. They had an intimate ceremony at their home with just 30 close friends and family.

“We were both in our thirties when we got married, so hopefully the stupid stuff we did earlier,” he recently told PEOPLE. “That’s probably the closest I have to what the key is.”

Harmon said that he and his wife are very different on many levels but it works to their advantage.
"We don’t generally like the same thing, and that’s been healthy for us, actually," Harmon told PEOPLE.
