New Details About Camila Cabello's Boyfriend, Including Rumors He Left Another Woman For Her
The two have been officially dating since February — but who is Matthew Hussey?
Camila Cabello has had a pretty fantastic year: she began 2018 with the release of her album Camila, which won her Artist of the Year at MTV’s Video Music Awards, as well as New Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. Her mega-hit “Havana” also won her Video of the Year at the VMAs. It has more than a billion streams on Spotify — more than any solo female artist in the platform’s history.
Her career is not the only aspect of her life that’s flourishing!
E! News reported in mid-February that Cabello and Matthew Hussey were official, according to a source. This came two days after photos of the couple together on a beach in Mexico surfaced. Before then she’d hinted at potentially having someone special in her life.
Since then, however, she’s been rather private about her relationship, which isn't surprising, since she's notoriously private about her personal life. Cabello told Cosmopolitan in May, “I don’t have any social media on my phone. I have it on my mom’s phone, so if there’s anything I want to say or if I want to read through what my fans are sending me, I can. It has made a world of difference.”
We know plenty about Camila Cabello, but what about boyfriend Matthew Hussey? His past, especially in regards to relationships, may not be as clean-cut as expected ...
1. He’s a life coach and motivational speaker, with a focus on romantic relationships.
According to his website, Hussey began as a private life coach in London for a few individual clients. Nowadays, he tailors programs for big-name clients such as Hugo Boss, Proctor & Gamble, and Accenture. He has also worked with Christina Aguilera.
Hussey’s niche interest, however, is love and relationships. Following his work in bringing light to the male perspective on romance, Hussey is now considered a leading romance expert in the U.K. and the U.S.
2. He’s a New York Times bestselling author.
His book Get the Guy: Learn Secrets of the Male Mind to Find the Man You Want and the Love You Deserve was first published in March 2013. It landed at number 11 on the New York Times Best Sellers list for Advice, How-To & Miscellaneous books the week of April 28. He’s also a columnist for Cosmopolitan.
3. He’s on TV, radio, YouTube … Everything!
Hussey can be found on NBC’s reality/competition show “Ready For Love,” an iHeartRadio show #LOVElife, and his own Youtube channel with over 400 videos and 1.5 million subscribers. There are plenty of ways to hear his relationship tips and tricks!
4. He makes Cabello nervous at her performances.
She told Marie Claire that if she knows he’s at her concert, watching her, “... I get super nervous. I stutter or my hands are shaky.”
Outside of performing, however, he makes her feel other things: “He makes me the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.” Despite their 10-year age difference, Cabello says they are very similar, " ... just weird and silly and stupid."
5. Hussey may have been involved with another woman at the same time as Cabello.
Dutch singer Elieve revealed on a radio show in the Netherlands that she was in a relationship with Hussey in early 2018 … until the Mexico pictures came out. She said she had met him in London while working on music.
Neither Hussey nor Cabello made any comments about the matter, but Elieve said their relationship ended shortly after the photos came out, and is no longer in contact with him. Cabello’s fans did not react well to this news at first. But months later, their relationship is still going strong—so no worries!
