Are Larissa And Colt From 90-Day Fiancé Still Together? Plus New Details On Her Arrest
Colt and Larissa had a crazy weekend that ended with one of them in jail.
Are Larissa and Colt from 90-Day Fiancé still together? Fan's of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé are no strangers to relationship drama. The couples on the show usually deliver lots of tears and tension to audiences as they work through cultural differences on their way to the altar. But seldom do fans get to see a total social media meltdown in real time like we saw this weekend from Colt and Larissa. The stars of the current season of the show got into a disagreement that started with a lot of angry Instagramming and ended one of them in jail.
What happened to Colt and Larissa and what does it mean for their relationship? Read on for more.
1. Back Story
Colt is a software engineer who lives in Las Vegas with his mom and a whole bunch of cats, who he sometimes dresses up. The cats, that is. His mom can dress herself. Larissa is from Brazil and claims to have gone to nursing school there. The two of them met online then vacationed together in Cancun where they got engaged after five days. After a few hiccups with visas and flight arrangements, Larissa arrived in the US and immediately started complaining that Colt didn't bring flowers to the airport. They headed home to Colt's mom, where Larissa insulted the house, declined to eat the food Colt's mom cooked, and went to bed with her clothes on as Colt's mom burst into tears. Colt mainly just sat there and watched.
2. Social media
Honestly, this couple makes for rather tedious television, since their plot line revolves around a foreign bride-to-be not really getting along with an American mother. Been there, watched that. But the pair both have very active Instagram accounts and fans have enjoyed the stories and photos they have posted since the season started.
3. Oversharing
Larissa has been on a spree of Ask Me posts in her Instagram stories and has answered a slew of questions about herself and Colt, in both English and Portuguese. She raised a few eyebrows when she posted some photos of Colt and asked her fans if they'd like to follow along while she coaches him to lose weight and she even talked about getting him a tummy tuck.
4. Video
The real drama started this weekend when Larissa posted a series of videos saying she and Colt just had a big fight. She alleged he had been insisting that she act like they weren't still together because he was receiving a lot of attention from female fans and didn't want to lose that. She said it wasn't fair to ask her to keep lying. After that, she alleges, Colt got mad, knocked over a shelf and stormed out.
5. Cry for Help
Sometime after this video, Larissa changed her handle on IG to "helpmeimwithoutphone" and changed her bio to a cry for help. In a series of comments, she said she was locked in the bathroom and Colt had taken her phone. Needless to say, fans grew concerned and called the police to go to the residence for a welfare check.
6. Arrest
Blogger John Yates took to Twitter to keep fans apprised of updates after Larissa posted her panic message. He had information that her friend was helping her out after police had come and potentially arrested Colt. However, there was a major plot twist when Yates tweeted an arrest report ... for Larissa. She was being held until someone could post $3000 bail for her.
7. Colt Weighs In
Colt finally told his side of the story, on Insta of course, later that evening. He claims that Larissa is prone to anxiety and depression and he was trying to calm her down when the situation escalated. The police initially handcuffed him, changed their minds, and eventually arrested Larissa.
8. Spoiler
You might notice Colt used the word wife. That's correct. The couple was married in June, according to Clark County records. But, really, a marriage announcement is pretty minor after all the rest of this.
9. Mom
Colt's mother wasn't home for all of the drama. She was in New York to film a live special with TLC. However, she heard about what was going on with her son and daughter-in-law and made her frustration with how Larissa's fans acted clear. While a mother is certainly entitled to defend her son, it should be noted that Larissa did ask for help and fans were legitimately concerned for her safety.
10. One more bombshell
While fans seethed about Colt letting his wife sit in jail overnight, bloggers started looking for more details. The website SoapDirt reports that this is actually Larissa's second arrest for domestic battery — the first was allegedly filmed by TLC. So far, no one form the network has addressed the issue.
11. Released
At this time, it appears that Larissa is out on bail and will have to appear in court in December. She has restored her old Instagram handle and posted a thank you to fans for supporting her. Colt is also back on social media. He posted a photo of one of his cats. No mention of Larissa at all.
