Details About The Army Solider Who Killed His Wife — And Threatened To Murder His Secret Girlfriend And Her Kids
Police found his wife's body in the trunk of his mistress' car.
A soldier is accused of killing his wife, and subsequently threatening his mistress and her two children if she did not help him dispose of his wife's body.
Police arrested 22-year old Logan Kyle and 24-year old Sarah Parker in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Oct. 21 after they discovered the body of Logan's wife, Shelena, in the trunk of Parker's red Ford Taurus. Police received a tip that there was a body in the vehicle. Parker's two young children were also in the back seat of the car at the time.
Logan is in the custody of the U.S. Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Polk, and Sarah has been charged with obstruction of justice and failure to report a homicide. She is also charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and is on $160,000 bond.
Tony Mancusco of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office said that Logan had admitted to killing his wife and that they believe he and Parker met up and were driving around the area looking for a place to dispose of Shelena's body. He added that the tip regarding the body in the car had made things easier for the investigation.
"In many cases, we don’t get a call until the body is actually found. We actually got this one before it was dumped which made it easier."
In a report from The Daily Mail, 22-year old Logan Kyle is a corporal in the U.S. Army. Authorities believe may have killed his wife because she had reportedly threatened to reveal to Logan's Army superiors that he secretly wore women's clothing.
Logan and Sarah had met on an online dating site following his tour in Iraq. Parker's family says she was not Logan's mistress and that the two broke it off when Logan's wife said she wanted to work things out.
Earlier in the day on October 21, Logan had been helping Sarah move her belongings back into her family's home, and he reportedly had Shelena's body in the car that whole time.
"They were in and out of the house all day," Sarah's dad, Jackie Parker said. "It's the only time I ever met him. I found him polite and respectful and, of course, clean-cut being in the Army — a very good-mannered young man. What I didn't know when I shook his hand is that he had used that very hand to kill his wife just hours earlier."
Despite facing charges, Sarah and her family insist she was threatened into helping Logan. Police, on the other hand, say Parker was a willing participant and will be moving ahead with charges.
"I can't go into that evidence but it shows there were events that transpired that absolutely do not include that she was threatened or coerced," Sheriff Mancuso added.
Parker's children are now in the care of their father, Eric Dayton.
