Women Having Labia-Puffing Surgery To Make Their Vags Look Younger
Your vagina will never be the same.
To some extent, cosmetic surgery has basically been our IRL "Fountain of Youth." As we age, our desire to be young again only gets worse, and when the esthetics of your body start going against you, we are reminded yet again that age is not always our friend.
Popular cosmetic surgery trends that are deemed as being beneficial to self-confidence (due to today's ridiculous beauty standards) are, unfortunately, targeted at women than they are men. Well, low and behold, plastic surgeons have done it again — they've found a way to keep vaginas "youthful." I wish I were kidding.
"Labia puffing" is a procedure designed to basically making your vagina visibly younger.
As women age, lack of estrogen affects the vagina in a myriad of ways (menopause is a vicious bitch). Dehydration from lack of lubrication and loss of elasticity and tone leave the vagina to appear wrinkled. This happens to every single woman (maybe not J.Lo, though, because even at 50 she still SLAYS).
The procedure involves taking fat from the patient's inner thigh or stomach and transferring it into the labia to make it appear more "puffy." Think of it as being similar to a lip filler, except this filler is for your vagina lips. Again, the cosmos have come together to help women love their vagina.
Of recent, labiaplasty has been a highly popular surgery being performed on more and more women (Labiaplasty is a cosmetic surgery that reduces the length of the innermost vaginal lips), so it was only a matter of time before Labia Puffing became a thing. #VaginaIsTrendingAgain
"The benefit of labia puffing is that it uses your own fat from another area of your body to add volume back to an area that deflates with time," Dr. Jennifer Walden, a plastic surgeon, told the Daily Star Online. "This makes it look great as it immediately refills it to an appearance similar to what it may have looked like prior to childbearing and/or menopause.
Dr. Walden even exclaimed that because you are using your own fat, you get a "softer, more natural appearance."
The procedure is approximately $3,000 and can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, with minimal recovery. So, yes, you can get yourself a brand new vajayjay during your lunch break.
