Bad News, Beauties: Your Knock-Off Makeup Is Full Of Rat Sh*t

As much as we would like to, stocking up on luxury makeup and skin care brands isn't always that ideal or realistic. There are times when we can afford to splurge on certain finds if we plan it out right — foundation, ALWAYS — but nine times out of ten, hitting up the Revlon and CoverGirl racks leaves a pretty huge hole of regrets in our pockets.

But finding knock offs at a steal that look just as good as the originals more than makes up for it, right?

Sorry, makeup lovers. In the most depressing news ever, your love of good deals is going to cost you. According to a police report by the City of London Police, your cheap makeup is full of sh*t. Literally.

The report mentions that "Laboratory tests have shown counterfeit perfume often contains poisonous chemicals including cyanide and even human urine. While fake cosmetics such as eyeliner, mascara, lipgloss and foundation have been found to contain toxic levels of chemicals and harmful substances such as; arsenic, mercury and lead."

But WHY?!

The sad thing is the bad news doesn't stop there. The report goes on to say that these toxic (and totally disgustng) chemicals can seriously irritate your skin, cause swelling, burns and even long term health issues.

We're all for trying new beauty trends but this is taking it a little too far, no?
