Love don't cost a thing? Well, not quite.

Obviously, we don't have to tell you that dating can be an expensive hobby. It adds up: the dinners, the movie tickets, presents, surprises... wouldn't you say it's worth it? The money you spend on love has real emotional value. It shows time and effort that you spent on your significant other. It shows thoughtfulness too, because we doubt you're spending money without thinking about it first.
But do men spend more then women in relationships? What about parents? If you have kids, does it mean you're spending more on them and not your relationship?
YourTango and the National Endowment For Financial Education (NEFE) polled over 2,000 adults in the U.S. to answer these questions. Honestly, the answers astounded us.
89% of adults who have been in relationships spend more when they're in one. WOAH!
