1. Neil Patrick Harris is really a talented magician. He is the president of The Magic Castle Club in Los Angeles.

2. Josh Radnor (Ted) and the creator of the show, Carter Bays, are both from Shaker Heights in Cleveland, where Ted Mosby grew up.

3. MacLaren's Pub is named after Carl MacLaren, who is Carter's assistant for the show. That explains why they named the bartender Carl!

4. All future scenes with Ted's kids (played by Lyndsy Fonseca and David Henrie) were shot in the first season so they stayed the same age throughout the series.
