Food Or Getting Frisky: What Do Men Think About More?

food or sex?

How often would you say you think about sex? For me, depending on what's going on in my day, it can range anywhere from five to 10 times. Okay, on really slow days, maybe 15 tops. I think. Sometimes it's more...

It turns out that, despite common stereotypes, men don't think about sex all the time — just a lot. In fact, a study conducted by Ohio State University found that men think about sex an average of 19 times a day, which comes out to every about 50 minutes. I guess that throws the whole "every seven seconds" myth out the window. Realistically, that every seven seconds would break down to 8,000 sexual thoughts in 16 waking hours. Ugh. My brain feels exhausted at just the notion of it. The ladies in the study, on the other hand, thought about sex an average of 10 times a day. We have better things to think about — like shopping, manicures and how to get you to marry us. Ha! Yeah, right.

The same study also found that men think about food 18 times a day, and about sleep 11 times a day. Whereas, once again, the ladies came in a bit lower, with food 15 times a day and sleeping 8.5 times a day. Shall we reach another conclusion that our brains are tied up with important things like marriage and babies? No! I kid again. The real conclusion is that men are gluttonous and slothful.

I always knew women were the far more intelligent of the genders, or at least the ones capable of thinking past basic needs, but now we have scientific proof. Hallelujah and amen.
